What captures the interest of director and screenwriter Flavio Barone are powerful narratives, whether real or fictional, that can resonate with and entertain the audience, exploring a range of film genres, from the poetry of everyday life to fun content. In his most recent works, Flavio has made connections with the sports world. His latest work, “Sem Filtro: Flamengo”, is a docuseries released on DAZN that follows the Rio de Janeiro soccer team's historical trajectory for their second Libertadores championship win in 2019. The documentary's positive reception motivated the production of a feature film on the same topic for the platform. He also directed “Mulheres na Luta” (Combate/GNT), a series that explores the women's MMA scene, showing how these fighters succeeded in a male-dominated environment. The director's own projects have been selected for more than 30 international film festivals – including Clermont-Ferrand, Chicago, and Seoul – having won awards for best screenplay and best film. Nowadays, in addition to developing season two of “Mulheres na Luta”, the director is also involved in the creation of two series: one for children and young adults, and another about a dystopian future.
