A director, photographer, and partner at Conspiração, Breno Silveira has created several Brazilian box office hits, many of them based on real stories and focused on family drama. “2 Filhos de Francisco” (“Two Sons of Francisco”), his directorial debut, became, at the time of its release, the most attended film of the so-called Resurgence of Brazilian cinema. Breno also directed “1 Contra Todos” (“1 Against All”), the most watched cable TV series in Brazil, and the Brazilian work with the most nominations in the International Emmy Awards. “Entre Irmãs” (“The Seamstress”), released as a feature film and TV miniseries for Rede Globo, was the biggest ratings hit in Brazilian TV in the previous 20 years. Breno's current projects include the series “DOM”, which is Amazon Prime Video’s first original fictional production in Brazil. He is also directing the biopic of singer Roberto Carlos. Breno met “The King”, as the singer is known in Brazil, during the production of the feature “A Beira do Caminho” (“Along the Way”), which was a tribute to his songs. After graduating from the École Louis-Lumière in Paris with a degree in cinematography, Breno began his career as director of photography, having served in that capacity in more than 10 feature films. These include the classics “Carlota Joaquina” (“Carlota Joaquina, Princess of Brazil”), by Carla Camurati, “Eu Tu Eles” (“Me You Them”), by Andrucha Waddington, and “O Homem do Ano” (“The Man of the Year”), by José Henrique Fonseca. Breno's works have been featured in the Toronto, Havana, and Monte-Carlo film festivals.
